Graco Recalls More than 25,000 Car Seats

Your Florida Trial Team

Graco is one of America’s most famous baby product manufacturers. They began making car seats for children in 1998 and have since been slowly growing in that area. However, the company recently had to recall more than 25,000 car seats that have been found to be inadequate at properly restraining a child during a car crash.

On Wednesday, May 24, 2017, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that the webbing in the Graco My Ride 65 car seat failed to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Of the 25,494 car seats recalled, all were produced between May and August of 2014. Units with a webbing code tag of 2014/06 are affected.

According to the agency, the harness webbing restraining the child could break, resulting in the child being improperly restrained and at higher risk of injury or death in a car accident. While waiting for a replacement kit, parents can continue to use the car seats, according to Danielle Clark, Graco’s spokesperson.

To find out whether or not your product is affected, parents can visit Graco’s website here. You can also call the NHTSA Hotline at (800) 424-9153 or visit their website here.
